Thank you to all those who were at our April 6th concert!
It was a thrill to present four new works by students of the UofC composition program and for them to share their experiences collaborating with Land’s End Ensemble. It was also wonderful to present “A Sybil Andrews Portrait” in collaboration with Glenbow and the support of Walt & Irene DeBoni. The work – created by Juno Award-winning composers Jocelyn Morlock, Alexina Louie, and Allan Gordon Bell – was performed with an accompanying slideshow of Sybil Andrews’ paintings to provide audiences insight to the inspiration behind the music. Many thanks to Dr. Jocelyn Anderson and Allan Gordon Bell for their marvellous pre-concert chat on Ms. Andrews’ art and the music it inspired.
